Akademisch gesehen sind die Beziehungen zwischen dem Irak und Deutschland sehr neu und eher begrenzt, daher ist dieses Projekt ein Ausgangspunkt, um die produktive Zusammenarbeit zwischen Institutionen in den beiden Ländern zu intensivieren. Persönlich freut mich das als irakischer und deutscher Staatsbürger.

BIO
Bashar Ibrahim is a Professor of Mathematical Systems Biology at the Gulf University of Science and Technology (GUST). He is also affiliate professor with the University of Jena in Germany and the European Virus Bioinformatics Center. Dr. Ibrahim completed his PhD with honors (summa cum laude) in Bioinformatics in 2008 and DSc (PD Dr. habil) in Systems Biology in 2013 from the University of Jena. Before joining GUST in 2019, Dr. Ibrahim held various positions at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), University of Jena, and University of Bonn.
