The idea for the project Digitales Lehren und Lernen in den Geschichtswissenschaften was originally conceived by Prof. Dr. Jenny Oesterle and Prof. Dr. Bashar Ibrahim during a conference they organized in Heidelberg (Germany) on 12–13 July 2019. The title of the conference was Strategies for German-Iraqi Collaboration in Historical Research, and it was sponsored by BMBF (German Federal Ministry of Education and Research) and AGYA (Arab German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities).
