The first joint workshop in the scope of the project Digitales Lehren und Lernen in den Geschichtswissenschaften, which brought together participants from the University of Regensburg, the University of Baghdad, and Al-Nahrain University, was held in Regensburg (Germany) on 20–23 Oct. 2021. The title of the workshop was Digital Learning and Teaching in Historical Sciences, and it was sponsored by DAAD and The German Federal Foreign Office. A primary objective of the workshop was to initiate an intercultural dialogue between the three universities on the use of technology in teaching history to graduate and undergraduate students. The workshop addressed the topic from the perspective of electronic learning and digital teaching while referring to more specific aspects, such as Geographical Information System (GIS), and a more specific context, such as Iraqi history students during the pandemics.
